Thimbleweed
Thimbleweed is a prolific, hardy member of the Buttercup family. 

The name thimbleweed is derived from its seed head which resembles a thimble. Before the seed head fully ripens, it can be picked and dried and used in dried floral arrangement. When the seed head is ripe, it bursts open into a white cottony or wooly material.

Height: 2 - 3 ft
Color: Greenish white
Flowering Time: Jun - Jul
   

Companion Plants:
Leadplant, Silky Aster, Purple Prairie Clover, Side Oats Grama, Little Bluestem
Thimbleweed grows in dry to moist prairies

 Thimbleweed roots can be made into a tea that is reputed to help overcome dizzy spells.
