| New Jersey Tea grows in dry to
mesic prairie and requires full sun
It propagates easily from scarified seed that has been soaked in 135°F
water for 30 minutes. Seed must be planted immediately after
soaking. |

New Jersey Tea was used for tea during Civil War times. Tea made from the leaves and flowers was used to treat fevers, dysentery, and sore mouth and throat. The flowers lather when crushed and rubbed in water and are said to leave the skin soft and fragrant. |
