Chelone glabra: |
|
Native to eastern US, the Turtlehead bloooms in late summer and autumn. Crowded into a dense terminal spike, the oddly-shaped, inch-long, puffy white blossoms of Turtlehead closely resemble the head of a turtle.
Turtlehead has opposite willow-like leaves with sharply toothed margins. The stem itself is somewhat squarish. |
