Illinois Bundleflower

 Illinois Bundleflower is a legume and used in re-vegetation plantings and prairie restoration.
 
cattle gamebird Bundleflower is an important food source for livestock and wildlife.

The alternate leaves are doubly compound.  The tiny white flowers appear as spherical heads at the ends of stalks arising from the points where the leaves join the stem. The leaves are touch and light sensitive.

The flowers develop into round clusters of curved, brown, flat pods

butterfly Bundleflower attracts butterflies.

Color: Whitish yellow
Flowering Time: Jul - Aug
   
 
Illinois Bundleflower grows in dry to mesic prairie and requires full sun.

It is easily propagated from scarified seed.
