Bottle Gentian Bottle gentian is a beautiful plant in the garden as well as in fresh or dried floral arrangements.

It has clusters of deep blue blossoms that stay closed.  They are pollinated by bees that actually open up the closed blossoms and crawl inside.

bee One should be careful when picking Bottle Gentian blossoms as there might be a bee inside.

Bottle Gentian grows in mesic to wet prairie and
requires full sun.

It is easily propagated from seed and should flower
by the fourth year after planting.  It is worth the wait!
