Gerardia, whose botanical name is also referred to as agalinis tenuifolia, is an attractive wildflower. Its numerous lavender flowers have an obliquely funnel-shaped, 5-lobed corolla. Each flower is positioned on an individual stalk about a half-inch long and has 4 hairy stamens of unequal length inside. The fruits are shiny, round capsules. |

It is easily propagated from seed and will
