Gerardia
Gerardia, whose botanical name is also referred to as agalinis tenuifolia, is an attractive wildflower.  Its numerous lavender flowers have an obliquely funnel-shaped, 5-lobed corolla. Each flower is positioned on an individual stalk about a half-inch long and has 4 hairy stamens of unequal length inside.

The fruits are shiny, round capsules.

Gerardia grows throughout the tall grass prairie region in moist to dry prairie and need full to partial sun.

It is easily propagated from seed and will bloom the first year since it is an annual.
