Prairie Sunflower is tall and
hairy. It has fewer flower heads which are 2 1/2 inches, yellow with
purple disks, and 15-20 ray florets. Its thick, rough leaves are fairly uniform and pointed. Its stem is often rough. |

| Prairie Sunflower grows in dry
upland prairie and is uncommon in more moist habitats. It requires
full sun. It is easily propagated
