Native to easternmost US to the Rocky Mountains, Bergamot is a showy species that needs
competition to control its spreading in prairie landscapes. It tends
to decrease its invasive habits with competition.
Bergamot, a member of the mint family, is quite fragrant. Its lavender to pink flowers are encircled by whitish bracts.
