Common in northeast Iowa,
Marsh or Swamp Wood Betony, also called Lousewort, is an upright and branched.
Its creamy white 2-lipped flowers crowd together on terminal spikes. Its leaves are mostly opposite, sessile, with scalloped lobes. |

requires full to partial sun. It is
propagated from seed or division. |

Marsh Betony or Lousewort was thought to keep animals free from lice, hence the name lousewort. |
