Meadow Rue has numerous greenish-white flowers on each plant, but male and
female flowers are usually found on separate plants.
The purple branched stems, with lacy bluish green leaves, closely resemble those of Columbine. The foliage is attractive in garden settings. |

| Meadow Rue grows in moist to mesic prairie and requires full to partial
sun.
It can be propagated from seed or by root division. |

Native Americans used Meadow Rue as a medicine and a perfume. It was also mixed with clay and rubbed on horses' muzzles to stimulate them during long journeys. |
