The flowers of
the Blue Vervain, like the Hoary Vervain, are found on erect spikes toward
the top of the plant. Blue Vervain makes a good cut flower and works well as an ornamental plant in borders. Because of its bitter taste, cattle won't eat it.

| Blue Vervain grows in moist prairie, stream
banks, and marshes in wet mesic to mesic conditions and requires full sun.
It is easily propagated from seed and will bloom in the first or second year. It can also be propagated by root division or cuttings. |
