| Culver's Root grows in mesic
to wet prairie and requires full to partial sun. It is easily propagated from its extremely small seeds and will grow quite well under natural conditions. It is also easily propagated by division, making sure that each transplanted section has a bud and a root. |

Culver's Root is named after a Dr. Culver who used the root as a cathartic. |
